Its amazing how you play it off as if a motherboard will EVER come close to a dedicated sound card - It wont. A sound card isnt priced out of peoples budgets. Nor are a pair of quality cans. I wouldn't say a sound card is a must-have these days on any modern system, but I still believe the dedicated card gives an overall better experience than the built-in solutions. I got a good deal... In order for you to fully enjoy every benefit of a sound card, you will need proper software. These solutions usually enhance the overall user experience and provide numerous advanced features, such as customizable frequency response, or numerous equalizer settings. Upgrading to a better sound card or an external source can improve your audio experience however everything within the audio chain must also be able to benefit from the change. This includes the media being played all the way to the speakers used. Building off its reputation for powerhouse graphics cards, EVGA is improving your sound experience whether you're streaming or playing. For gamers, this card’s impetus is lifelike immersion: Virtual surround will situate you in your world of choice, and a lowered measured and perceived noise floor will make enemies easier to detect. Dedicated sound cards are almost never a good thing, this due to electrical interference inside ones computer case and modern motherboards are getting pretty decent and handling sound anyways. What would help though, if you are having sound quality problems, is a DAC/AMP setup, but only if your source and playback devices are up to par. Sound cards will improve the sound quality of your system, but if you don't have the appropriate speakers or headset, you will never notice the difference. One of the major reasons gamers use dedicated sound cards is for the reduced CPU usage. My PC has no dedicated sound-card. Now, If I install a dedicated sound-card (something average price, nothing really fancy), will it improve performance on the mentioned scenario? I'm not asking if the sound card improves audio quality. I'm asking if it will lighten up CPU load by a few percentage points. Question / Help Will a dedicated soundcard improve my situation? Thread starter MechMK1; Start date Jan 3 ... My question is, if I install a dedicated soundcard, will I be able to use one physical device to play back both the sound on the dedicated card and the internal sound card? Narcogen Active Member ... tailor your experience and to keep ... These on-board chips can produce decent enough sound for basic use, but if you want high quality sound in gaming, movies and music playback while also getting the most from a decent set of speakers or headphones, installing a dedicated sound card in your PC is the only way to do it. Read on below to find out why.
2020.07.02 22:03 thesomeone123456789 Does a dedicated sound card improve my experience?
I have a Pair of Ultrasone Edition 8 Headphones which currently retail for about 1500$ and I currently use them with the onboard soundchip of my Mainboard, which has a supremefx s1220a. So I wanted to ask if I should get a Soundcard or if I should stick to the integrated solution and if I should buy one can anyone give me a recommendation?(Sorry for the grammar mistakes, I’m not a native Speaker )

2020.07.02 22:03 Teidot This is probably the worst patch for WvW since core. Really sad after the last patch was one of the best.
I know that the current patch notes are apparently still missing some changes, but I can't see those changing the overall theme of these notes and I wanted to at least make some attempt to hopefully have some of the more egregious changes towned down before the patch went live.
I'm not sure what happened this patch, the previous patch was excellent, it hit most of the over-performing builds with well targeted changes and the quick hotfixes afterwards to fine tune things were very good to see. This patch managed to not address a single problem the game mode is experiencing balance-wise (Dragon Banner, Winds of Disenchantment and Revenant among others) but also gave the most unnecessary set of buffs I have ever seen to Scourge, a class that has dominated WvW in PoF since the launch of the expansion. Even more absurd is that this patch REVERSES the very appropriate nerfs to the spec in the last patch while doing nothing to remove the compensation buffs it got and adding several more buffs to some of the most powerful skills the profession has at the same time.
By far the worst change in this patch is the shade change:

2020.07.02 22:03 Arisu_Mizuki [Win95 CD-ROM] [1995 or earlier] Point-Click medieval fantasy about a farm boy named Werner
Platform(s): Windows 95 PC CD-ROM
Genre: Point-and-click adventure with some first-person exploration elements
Estimated year of release: 1995 or earlier.
Graphics/art style: Mid-90s pre-rendered CG images, of a generally low fidelity. The models and animations were pretty stiff, and less detailed than the pre-rendered graphics in the Donkey Kong Country series.
Notable characters: The game was set in a medieval fantasy world and I was controlling a teenage boy growing up and doing chores on a farm. I remember for sure that the protagonist was named Werner, and had red hair, probably shoulder-length. I think Werner was probably an orphan with a mysterious past who would eventually end up being "the chosen one" in whatever fantasy conflict, following some variation of the Luke Skywalker hero arc, but I didn't get far enough in the game to get out of the farm.
Werner lived on the farm and did chores as requested by an older man who might have been his uncle, or who might not even have been blood-related. Basically Uncle Owen in this game's story. I recall this farm-uncle guy being short, partially bald, maybe a brown mustache and brown hair.
I had the impression that the game would eventually lead into a larger conflict with a fantasy-driven storyline, but the demo part that I played all took place on this generally idyllic farm during broad daylight.
Notable gameplay mechanics: It was functionally a point-and-click adventure with static screens where you'd click on things to solve puzzles, but the game also tried to simulate walking around the world in first person. It used pre-rendered transitional movies when you walked from one location to another. For example, if I was in the stables, I'd be looking at a mostly static JPEG showing the stables with a few interactive objects I could click on. Then if I chose to leave the stables and go to the well, the game would show a pre-rendered movie seen from my character's first person perspective starting from the stables and transitioning through the farm as he walked to the well. The transitional movie would end at the well, then the game would transition to the static JPEG image of the exact same view of the well, where I could actually click on stuff.
Story scenes, interactions, and cinematics would sometimes appear in a 3rd-person perspective where I could see what Werner looked like. All cinematics were pre-rendered CGI movies, and all static images were pre-rendered 2D images. There were no real-time 3D elements in the game at all.
At one point the farm-uncle guy asked Werner to lead a cow from one section of the farm to the other. During this objective, the cow appeared as an overlay at the bottom right of my screen (sort of like the gun in a first person shooter) to indicate it was walking along with me.
Other details: I played a demo of this game on a demo compilation CD-ROM that came with my Compaq Presario computer purchased in the fall of 1995. I don't think I even completed the demo, in part because the puzzles were too obtuse/difficult, but also because I had better games to play on my first-ever computer. Stonekeep and Phantasmagoria were other games I played on the same machine around the same time.
I feel like my memory of the game is fairly accurate, but I worry that the game itself may be too obscure for anyone to remember it. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
